WARREN "The Warrior" Joubert says sparring with enormously talented fighter Tshifhiwa "Atomic Spider" Munyai has sharpened him for his bid to reclaim the SA welterweight belt from Grant "Fireball" Fourie.

Joubert lost the title to Fourie in July. The former champion, who went some way towards redeeming himself by beating Jason Bedeman over 10 rounds in December, will challenge Fourie at Emperors Palace on March 19. Joubert has been sparring with former IBO junior featherweight champion Munyai, who is trained by Warren Hulley.

"Sparring with Munyai has taught me a lot. That guy is on another level ," said Joubert.

"Xolisani Ndongeni and France Ramabolu also give quality sparring, so I’m ready to be crowned again."

Joubert, who always bring his A-game to a fight, added: "I was ready physically in our first fight and I felt good, but mentally, there were some disruptions."

Trainer Colin Nathan said should Joubert do what he will be told on the night, then he will win back the title. Promoter Rodney Berman has added a vacant WBA Pan African belt as an incentive.

The tournament will be headlined by SA’s only dual word champion Hekkie "Hexecu tioner" Budler in defence of his WBA "Super" and IBO mini flyweight belts against Byron "Gallito" Rojas from Nicaragua.

Paul Kamanga will defend his WBA Pan African welterweight belt against Russian Roman Balaev, while Joshua Studdard will take on Lerato Khotle.

n Ali "Rush Hour" Funeka won the IBO international welterweight title after beating undefeated Russian Vishkahn Murzabekov via a split points decision in Russia on Saturday.
