FORMER Cameroon midfielder Roger Feutmba has tipped SA to win Tuesday’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Durban.

Feutmba, who has been based in SA since his playing days at Mamelodi Sundowns in the 1990s, insists, though, that he is not being a traitor — "I’m just being honest as I analyse this match."

Bafana and the Indomitable Lions have met on eight occasions. SA have won three, Cameroon one and there have been four draws. "The General" says Bafana’s style of play gives them an edge and he sees Shakes Mashaba’s boys winning the second leg on home turf.

"The first leg was a good game. Bafana did great in Cameroon and if they stick to their style of play in Durban, they can win. I know that Cameroon team well and Bafana can lose against another team, but they always have a good chance to win against Cameroon.

"Bafana’s style is good. They play one-touch, fast football and that makes life difficult for Cameroon. Check the records and ask yourself why is it that Bafana have a better record against Cameroon? The style of play makes a difference," he said.

"When you play fast against Cameroon, you always put them in a difficult situation. Cameroon have defensive-minded players, especially in the midfield, like Stephane Mbia, and that makes it difficult for the team to go forward. You could see that in the first leg. They were just looking for the set pieces in dangerous areas to score against Bafana.

"If Bafana work hard on avoiding conceding from set pieces this time around, I believe they have a big chance of winning here," said Feutmba, who played 35 games for Cameroon.
