FORMER president Nelson Mandela’s successor Thabo Mbeki has criticised the notion that the vision of national reconciliation and nonracial South Africa belongs to Mandela only, saying it is incorrect for any South African to feel a sense of fear that the vision of ‘black and white’ which Albert Luthuli spoke about in 1957. In 2013 belongs only to Nelson Mandela, rather than all of us.

“As we celebrate the life of Mandela and all the others and indeed pay tribute, we must not forget that there were other people who made enormous sacrifices including sacrificing their lives”, Mr Mbeki said.
