MUZI Yeni — still very much in contention for the jockeys championship — will bid to continue a winning sequence when he rides at Turffontein on Thursday.

Yeni, 29, has booted home a winner at each of the venues he has competed at in the past four days. He had five booked rides at Wednesday’s meeting at Greyville.

At the city track on Thursday, Yeni, who rode a double here last Saturday, has prospects of adding two more winners to his seasonal tally when he partners Road To Indy in the second race and Bankable Teddy in the first leg of the Pick 6.

Road To Indy, a member of the powerful Mike de Kock stable, has not raced for two months, during which time he has been gelded. That may result in the three-year-old leaving the maiden ranks this afternoon, with Mr Rambo and Pachuco rated his main dangers.

Trainer Brian Wiid has booked Yeni for Bankable Teddy, who was placed third over 2,000m on his latest outing.

Punters might need to add a few other runners in their Pick 6 perms and all of Kinaan, Oriental Blue and Revelation could take a hand in the finish.

Bondiblu did this column a favour at odds of 6-1 last time out, so there is no reason to desert Stanley Ferreira’s filly in the first leg of the jackpot.

Although this is a stiffer test for Bondiblu with both Song Of Happiness and Zrinski in opposition, she has only 52.5kg on her back and clearly goes well for jockey Marco van Rensburg.

Geoff Woodruff must be frustrated with his Aussie import, Tee Jay Ar, who is battling to win another race. The five-year-old turns out again in Thursday’s eighth race, but he is not one to trust and preference is for Steve Moffatt’s runner, Roman Carnival. "I think the jockey made his move too late last time — we plan to be closer to the pace today," said Moffatt on Wednesday.

Woodruff may fair better in the sixth race when he saddles three-year-old filly Kellie Firth. She scored over 2,000m at the Vaal on her latest appearance.

Once again, Yeni should get in on the action as his mount, Laurel Cherry, represents the in-form stable of Ormond Ferraris.
