Buthelezi slams Zuma, ANC and NFP

INKATHA Freedom Party (IFP) leader Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi has accused President Jacob Zuma’s government of being the most corrupt of all post-apartheid administrations. He also accused the ruling African National Congress (ANC) and the National Freedom Party (NFP) of using taxpayers’ money to campaign for the upcoming elections.
Prince Buthelezi was speaking during the 20th anniversary of democracy and election rally at Lindelani, north of Durban at the weekend. He said Zuma has moved from one scandal to another and urged South African voters to dump him and other corrupt leaders.
"The R206m that was spent on Nkandla is a scandal, and the president’s silence on the matter is deafening. His answer to the public protector’s report is a non-answer. He says he will respond later, once the SIU (Special Investigating Unit) has investigated.
"Clearly the ANC is doing everything it can to postpone dealing with Nkandla. They hope it will go away until after the elections," he said.
"But Nkandla is one among many scandals, for this government has been tainted by corruption scandal after corruption scandal. The rot runs deep in the ruling party."
He said the NFP was also learning from the ANC in corruption stakes.
"Municipal funds have allegedly been channelled into the NFP’s election campaign, which means that money which the Treasury gave to the municipality to deliver services, has allegedly been used to put up NFP posters and to wine and dine journalists for favourable reports on the NFP."
Prince Buthelezi said voters have realised that voting for corrupt leaders is wrong and they are returning to the IFP.
"There is no mistaking the message from the electorate, that the IFP is wanted, needed and supported. We are back on an upward path.
"Ten days from now, the power to decide the future of our country is going to be placed squarely where it belongs; in your hands. You will have the chance to say, "enough is enough".
