PROTESTS caused the University of Cape Town’s (UCT’s) Jammie bus service to be diverted on Thursday morning.

In a short statement‚ the varsity said it was "monitoring protest action near Tugwell and Leo Marquard Halls" on its Lower campus.

"The University of Cape Town is monitoring a small protest which has disrupted the Jammie Bus service on lower campus‚" it said.

"The Jammie bus service has been diverted to an alternative route.

"Classes and lectures are continuing on all UCT campuses today."

A Jammie bus was torched in November last year during the #FeesMustFall protests.
