THE pump price of petrol 95 octane and 93 octane will decrease by 69c/l with effect from Wednesday‚ the Department of Energy has announced.

The wholesale price of diesel‚ 0.05% sulphur and 0.005% sulphur‚ will increase by 15c/l and 14c/l respectively and the wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will increase by 17c/l and the single maximum national retail price will increase by 23c/l ‚ it said.

The maximum retail price of liquid petroleum gas will decrease by 120.00c/kg.

"The average international product prices of petrol decreased whilst diesel and illuminating paraffin increased during the period under review. The crude oil price increased on average compared to the previous pricing period mainly due to rumours that Organisation of might cut production‚" the department said.

It added that the rand had also strengthened against the US dollar on average when compared to the previous period.
