SOME say the world’s greatest sportscar maker is the Italian company Ferrari. At Maranello in Italy, where these devastatingly quick cars are made, the production line is still manned by highly skilled technicians.

The 458 Italia, which could be the best looking Ferrari the company has ever made, is a sculpture in metal that can attain a speed of 100 kilometres an hour from complete standstill in just three seconds.

The normally aspirated V8 of this car goes all the way to 9,000 revolutions per minute, which means that this spectacular engine is pretty loud, making it popular with petrol heads.

In this video we find out a little bit about the Ferrari 458 Italia from Business Day Motor News editor Mark Smyth, then we go for a ride with Ferrari enthusiast Adam Blow to see why people around the world are so passionate about this particular sportscar.
