SOUTH Africa’s top-selling leisure motorcycle brand has released an aggressive-looking new roadster for bike enthusiasts. The BMW R 1200 R is an open-to-the-wind machine, equipped with the company’s powerful 1200 cc boxer engine and state-of-the-art electronics.
The latest release from BMW Motorrad has a 2-into-1 exhaust, raked steeply upwards into a sweet-sounding silencer that also complies with strict EU emissions regulations.
At the front end there is a futuristic headlight cluster that shows this bike means business, above that a sophisticated instrument cluster with electronic display that shows whether traction control has been selected by the rider for slippery conditions.
Stylised air intakes nestle underneath fuel tank, metallic and non-metallic finishes are available, also a striking white with red tubular metal frame paint scheme.
