JOBURG Ballet has dropped ticket prices for this year as a way of bringing ballet to a wider audience.
Over the years the ballet company has tried various innovations to make ballet more accessible and meaningful to more people, and to raise money to stage more ballets.
Rehearsals for Joburg Ballet’s first production for this year, the tragic story of Giselle, who dies of a broken heart, started last year.
It will be on stage at the Joburg Theatre from April 8-17, with tickets already on sale online at The Joburg Theatre.
Prices start at R90 for the half-price opening night, and there is a 30% discount on tickets sold before January 31.
