MARGARITA Putter, CEO of research firm TNS South Africa, has been appointed TNS's Africa and Middle East regional director of business development and marketing. Putter has been with TNS South Africa for 29 years.
She will continue on the Africa and Middle East executive committee and her portfolio will also include overall marketing strategy for the region.
Putter, who has been CEO since January 2007, was previously the managing director of Research Surveys (now TNS South Africa). She began her career in research with TNS Healthcare in London before moving to Cape Town in 1983 to join the then Research Surveys. She joined its board in 1985 and was appointed managing director in 1996.
Karin du Chenne will take over as CEO of TNS South Africa. Du Chenne is currently its managing director and is based in Johannesburg.
She has more than 20 years' experience in the industry and has consulted to a range of large multinational and local clients in the fast-moving consumer goods, financial and technology sectors.
She has a BCom majoring in marketing and finance from the University of the Witwatersrand.
In 1992 she joined Research Surveys, was appointed to the board in 2000 and in 2006 was appointed the managing director.
