The Washington Post says recent polls for the US elections race "remain a dead heat" between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. How the North American electorate soon forgets. Then again, perhaps the electorate sees no substantial difference between the two. The people have unmasked the facade of the incumbent. It is no wonder his former steadfast backers like Cornel West and Roberto Unger have also grown despondent about his conservative policies that include bailing out banks, assassinations of alleged US enemies, regime change in Libya and giving a middle finger to Rio+20.
Fortunately, the rest of the world has grown wiser since the days of The Audacity of Hope. Gabriel Garcia Marquez once said: "It is not true that people stop pursuing dreams because they grow old, they grow old because they stop pursuing dreams."
